I think we should all learn that child -!trafficking is a very serious crime...and that MOSES and the EGYPTIANS are in very big trouble.
The reason is because NYE- NY- is talking about all the SPARKS?
And it has to " do" with KANSAS and MICHELANGELO which is not the PRETTIZE you pretended it was .
And now, Father BERRY from WATERLOO is going to pay " dearly" in ASH GROVE.
So is" KIKIPOP" and POPERS.

Paris is both lower and denser than New York. Barcelona achived growth, in part, by ripping out its highways. Madrid has dedicated large avenues to pedestrians, and taken on projects that dwarf the Big Dig. All of these cities are more vibrant and sustainable than almost any in America, and with a negligable number of skyscapers. Jane Jacobs would have rightly found the leadears of these succesfull metoropoli sane, although she would have undoubtedly critisized their gentrification. As to Moses, his urban vision could not have been more destructive and misguided, yet his ability to build ambitious projects is an necessary quality in the leadership of any great city. Cities like Atlanta, Houston, Cleavland, and Detroit, urgently need planers with Jacobs' corageous dedication to the life of the streets, and Moses's ability make big projects happen. Unfortunatley, metros, pedestrian boulevards, green belts, and infill housing do not happen at the community level, but their goal must be to give life to a cities neighborhoods.

yes, I agree completely. Jane Jacobs was not just a complete lunatic, she obviously had zero grab of elementary economics. A simple cooking class and she could have been useful to society. Too bad. Such wasted potential.

In other news, there are still some nuts out there who think Jacobs was actually right, though, they concede that they must, by definition, have zero knowledge of even elementary economics, because we all know that the cities with the biggest buildings offer the most affordable housing.

Yes, now that I think about it, I need to completely reassess my view of one Robert Moses. I bet he was the kind of guy one would really enjoy drinking a beer with. And, really, why does authoritarianism have such a bad rap, really?

Gosh, I feel so much better right now. My mind has been opened. I can't wait to see all that I have to learn from the noble Mr. Moses.

But first -- that basic course in elementary economics.

It's worth noting that this article (and most of the others lately) have been out there due to the release of Anthony Flint's new book about the Jacobs vs. Moses era in NYC. He works for the Lincoln Institute of Land Use Policy in Cambridge and is a good friend of ours at Smart Growth America — as well as a great author.

Haven't read it yet but I've heard it's terrific.
